Desktop mapping drawing at site near Towcester, Buckinghamshire

The idea of a Desktop Mapping drawing is to make the interpretation of the maps and plans of any given site, easier for our clients. Searching through pages and pages of plans takes up time that could be used much more efficiently. The Desktop Mapping drawing incorporates all the plans that would be affected by the site development and places them on one page.

The second Desktop Mapping drawing project that was worked on by Groundwise was for a site in Towcester, Buckinghamshire. As with all utility reports that we work on, the site details were double checked and requests sent to all the utility companies that supply are control that area. Plans and responses that came in to us were checked against the original site plan sent to us by the client, and scanned to computer.

The Towcester job was a Standard Turnaround and so scanned versions of all the responses received after the 15 working day deadline were emailed to the client on that day. The physical report itself was sent to Geotec Surveys, the company Groundwise are in partnership with over the Desktop Mapping service. Also sent to GeoTec was an electronic version of the OS map for the site. This is the map GeoTec overlay the utility information onto.

Two days later the report and a printed Desktop Mapping drawing were sent off to the client on schedule, and an email copy was sent to the Groundwise office before being sent on.

The whole project was a smooth operation and was completed very successfully. Groundwise looks forward to providing this service more in the future.
